Cell Virtualization
Cell is a hypervisor designed to run virtual machines or containers by allocating specific zones within a host. It provides a platform environment that divides a host's resources into smaller units—like individual “cells” or “rooms”—to execute virtual machines dedicated to different roles.
Cell is a built-in hypervisor based on Linux KVM, enhanced with optimized features for seamless ABLESTACK operations. The Cell hypervisor consists of the following key components.
Integrated hypervisor within Cube OS — no separate hypervisor license required
Bare-metal hypervisor capabilities with the latest kernel support for high-performance I/O
Compatible not only with Cell but also with other hypervisors such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Xen
